How Many Carbs Are in an IPA?
There is no single carb count for “an IPA.” Official Founders Brewing data for six selected IPAs run from 7.98g to 22g of carbohydrate per 12 oz, so the beer name and pour size matter.

What the range does—and does not—mean
The 8–22g range is the rounded span of the six current Founders examples shown above. It is not a claim that every IPA falls inside that range.
Brewery, product, batch, alcohol strength, recipe, and pour size can change the result. Use a current manufacturer disclosure for the exact product whenever one is available.
Total carbs, not invented net carbs
The brewery source reports carbohydrate but does not supply dietary fiber in the cited table. This page therefore labels the values as carbohydrate and does not manufacture a net-carb figure by assuming fiber is zero.
If a product label provides both total carbohydrate and dietary fiber, use the visible values with the net-carb calculator.

Frequently asked questions
How many carbs are in a 12 oz IPA?
There is no universal IPA value. In the official Founders examples on this page, selected 12 oz IPAs range from 7.98g to 22g of carbohydrate.
Do double and hazy IPAs always have more carbs?
Not always, but recipe, alcohol strength, residual carbohydrate, and serving size can increase the number. Check the exact brewery's data.
Are IPA carbs the same as net carbs?
Do not assume that. Brewery disclosures commonly report total carbohydrate and may not provide dietary fiber, so this page reports the disclosed carbohydrate value without relabeling it as net carbs.
Was the previous 83.3g per 100g value correct?
No. It came from an unrelated food record and was removed. IPA nutrition should be identified by the exact beer and serving size.
